El Minya or the ( Bride of Upper Egypt ), on of the lovable Cities in Egypt that lies about 153 miles south of Cairo, people called it the Bride of Upper Egypt due to its special location at the border of upper and Lower Egypt. El-Minya is famous for the manufacture of Sugar, Soap, and Perfume it is considered as the center of these industries.El Minya also was a center of cotton as there are some fine houses which housed the Egyptian and Greek cotton barons but they are now housed government offices.
Besides these beautiful industries that E Minya is famous for, there are also many historical places to explore like the Muslim and Christian cemetery called Zawiyyet al-Mayyiteen, (Place of the Dead) which is considered as one of the largest cemeteries in the world, you can visit
also the El-Umra Mosque, which is the town’s oldest and the El-Lamati Mosque.
Minya now considered a good place for tourists to come and see its wonders without any fears from the city or from the people as people of Minya has a reputation of being honest, kind and friendly, the city itself considered as a good stop over, tourists can visit many excursions like Hermopolis, Tuna elGebel and Tell el-Amarna.
