Itinerary

Day 1

Meet and greet at the airport. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight at a hotel in Yerevan.

Day 2

After breakfast at the hotel we will start the tour across Armenia with a fascinating sightseeing tour of Yerevan, the heart of Armenia. We are going to enjoy interesting stories of the thousand-year history of the capital along with visits of architectural monuments (such as the Opera House, Cascade Complex, National Assembly Building, Republic Square, as well as vintage central streets of the city (such as Abovyan str., Mashtots ave., Baghramyan ave., Northern ave.). And from the height of the special viewpoint the whole city will open up towards us. Overnight at a hotel in Yerevan.

Day 3

After breakfast at the hotel we will drive to Tsaghkadzor which is considered to be one of the most popular winter resorts of Armenia. It is one of the places of our mountainous country, where the beauty of the nature appears with its whole variety. Tsaghkadzor is situated in Kotayk region, 60 km north from Yerevan, on the eastern slope of Teghenis Mountain, surrounded with virginal woods and alpine meadows. In Tsaghkadzor, the popular ski resort of Armenia, there is a chairlift with 5 stations and more than a dozen ski runs. The arm chaired ropeway of Tsaghkadzor is located on the eastern slope of Mount Teghenis 1966-2819 m above sea level. Our next stop is Lake Sevan. A marvelous scene opens in the north-western part of Lake Sevan, where the peninsula towers over the transparent surface of the lake. Sevanavank monastery was built on the peninsula in 874 by the order of king Ashot Bagratuni's daughter – princess Mariam. The silhouette of the churches against the background of the turquoise lake and blue-sky casts unexplainable impression on the visitors.

Day 4

After breakfast at the hotel, we will drive to Geghard Monastery, a 13th-century masterpiece of Armenian architecture, known for its rock-hewn churches and rich sculptural embellishments. The site, originally called Ayrivank (cave monastery), was later renamed Geghard (Lance) and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Next, we will visit Garni Temple, the unique surviving example of heathen culture in Armenia, blending Greco-Roman and Armenian styles. Built in the first century AD and dedicated to the God of the Sun, it later became the summer residence of Armenian kings. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 5

After breakfast at the hotel, we will head to Khor Virap, the most famous pilgrimage site in Armenia, linked to the adoption of Christianity in 301. From the monastery, admire the stunning view of Mount Ararat. Next, visit Areni Cave, where artifacts dating back to 4200-3500 BC, including the world's oldest leather shoe, were found. Finally, explore Noravank Monastery, a 13th-century architectural masterpiece surrounded by rocks and caves. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 6

After breakfast at the hotel, we will proceed to Etchmiadzin Cathedral, one of the world's oldest churches, founded in the fourth century. According to legend, it was built where Gregory The Illuminator saw an apparition of Jesus Christ. The interior features frescoes by the Hovnatanyan family. Nearby are the residences of the Catholicos and the Theological Academy. The "Treasures of Echmiadzin" museum houses unique relics, including the Holy Lance and Noah's Ark relics. Next, visit Zvartnots Temple, a marvel of 7th-century Armenian architecture. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 7

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport. Departure.
