After breakfast at the hotel we will start the tour across Armenia with a fascinating sightseeing tour of Yerevan, the heart of Armenia. We are going to enjoy interesting stories of the thousand-year history of the capital along with visits of architectural monuments (such as the Opera House, Cascade Complex, National Assembly Building, Republic Square, as well as vintage central streets of the city (such as Abovyan str., Mashtots ave., Baghramyan ave., Northern ave.). And from the height of the special viewpoint the whole city will open up towards us. Overnight at a hotel in Yerevan.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will drive to Tsaghkadzor, a popular winter resort in Armenia. Located 60 km north of Yerevan in the Kotayk region, it is surrounded by virginal woods and alpine meadows on the eastern slope of Teghenis Mountain. Tsaghkadzor features a chairlift with 5 stations and over a dozen ski runs. Our next stop is Lake Sevan, where the peninsula towers over the lake's transparent surface. Sevanavank monastery, built in 874 by Princess Mariam, offers a stunning silhouette against the turquoise lake and blue sky. Overnight in Yerevan.
After breakfast, we will drive to Geghard Monastery, a 13th-century masterpiece with churches hewn from rock. Originally called Ayrivank (cave monastery), it was renamed Geghard (lance) for the lance that pierced Jesus, kept here for centuries. The site, rich in sculptural embellishments and khachkars, is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Next, we visit Garni Temple, a blend of Greco-Roman and Armenian styles, built in the first century AD and dedicated to the Sun God. Nearby are the ruins of a royal palace and a bathhouse with stunning mosaics. Overnight in Yerevan.
