Welcome to the Sultanate of Oman. We will await you at the Airport and take you to your hotel. The remainder of the day offers free time for you to explore and relax. Overnight in Muscat.
Today you visit the 5th largest mosque in the world, the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. Passing by the diplomatic quarter, you will be taken to the oldest and largest market in the country, Muttrah Souk. This is the time for you to shop for your Omani souvenirs. Walk through its narrow alleys where the air is filled with the smell of frankincense and sandalwood. The next stop is the Al Alam Palace where the Sultan receives his state guests. The palace is flanked by two Portuguese fortresses. At a museum, you will witness traditional artifacts and traces of the history and the pre-history of Muscat. Overnight in Muscat. (B/L/-).
Driving towards the interior of Oman with a first stop at Birkat Al Mouz with its tranquil gardens and many date palms. Then to Jabal Akhdar (the green mountain) explore the area with its small villages and terrace fields. Due to the milder and cooler climate, many fruits such as apricots, peaches, grapes, and pomegranates are cultivated here. It is also famous for the production of rose water (IN APRIL). Leaving Jabal Akhdar after breakfast heading to the huge clay fort in Bahla known for its pottery workshops, then Jabrin visit Oman's most beautiful fort with its intricately designed interior. The tour ends at Nizwa, Overnight at Nizwa Hotel. (B/L/-).
After breakfast visit the historic Nizwa Fort and the Souq, where traditional handmade silver jewelry and daggers (Khanjars) are sold. We then proceed to the so-called Wahiba Sands desert. Overnight in Desert Camp. (B/L/D).
Breakfast at the camp, then head to Wadi Bani Khaled with its natural pools and greenery. Having spent time in the wadi, drive back to Muscat. Overnight in Muscat. (B/L /-).
Another reason to get up early: a picturesque “balcony walk” to the old village of As Sab on top of the Mountain. Your rugged route to Muscat consists of a stop at the village of Bilad Sayt, followed by one of the most exhilarating off-road journeys through Wadi Bani Awf. Visit the hot springs of Nakhal and stroll around its fort before heading towards Muscat, where our unforgettable journey ends. Overnight in Muscat. (B/-/-).
Breakfast at the hotel then transfer to Muscat Airport for final departure.
