Begin your half-day tour with pickup from your hotel in Cairo or Giza at 10:00 AM by our expert guide, then head to the Citadel of Salah El-Din, a magnificent medieval fortress offering panoramic views of Cairo. Within its walls, you’ll visit the Mosque of Muhammad Ali, one of Cairo’s most beautiful landmarks. Also known as the Alabaster Mosque for its stunning alabaster-covered walls, this Ottoman-style structure dominates the skyline with its elegant domes and minarets.
Next, you’ll be driven to Al-Azhar Mosque, one of the oldest mosques in Cairo and a historic center of Islamic scholarship. Commissioned in 970 AD by the Fatimid Caliph Al-Mu’izz li-Din Allah, it was the first mosque built in the new capital and later became the heart of Al-Azhar University, one of the oldest operating universities in the world. Its name, “Al-Azhar,” is believed to reference Fatimah al-Zahraa, daughter of the Prophet Muhammad.
Your final stop is the revered Al-Hussein Mosque, believed by many to house the head of Imam Hussein, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad. Located in the heart of Islamic Cairo, the mosque holds deep spiritual significance and is an important pilgrimage site for Muslims.
This immersive journey through Islamic Cairo offers a deep connection to centuries of faith, architecture, and tradition. At the end of your tour, your guide will transfer you back to your hotel.
