OMAN JOURNEY: MUSCAT TO THE MOUNTAINS

Arrive at Muscat International Airport, where you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax and settle in. Overnight in Muscat.

After breakfast, begin your exploration of Muscat with a visit to the magnificent Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. Continue with a photo stop at the elegant Royal Opera House, then head to Muttrah Fish Market and stroll along the Muttrah Corniche before browsing the traditional Muttrah Souk. Visit the Bait Al Zubair Museum to learn about Oman’s rich heritage, then make a final stop at Al Alam Palace, flanked by the 16th-century Portuguese forts of Jalali and Mirani. After breakfast, check out and travel along Oman’s spectacular coastal route. Stop at the Bimmah Sinkhole, a natural limestone crater with turquoise waters, and relax at Fins Beach. Continue to the scenic Wadi Tiwi, then visit the coastal town of Sur with its traditional Dhow Factory. After lunch at a local restaurant, head into the vast desert of Wahiba Sands for a thrilling dune drive and a breathtaking sunset over the sand dunes. Dinner and overnight in a desert camp.

Enjoy breakfast at the camp before visiting a traditional Bedouin home to experience desert life. Continue to the stunning Wadi Bani Khalid, where you can swim in its clear natural pools. After lunch at a local restaurant, drive into the dramatic mountains of Jabal Akhdar and check in at your hotel. Overnight in Jabal Akhdar.

After breakfast, visit a traditional rose factory in the mountain villages and enjoy a panoramic viewpoint over the terraced farms. Drive down the mountain to Nizwa, the ancient capital of Oman. Explore the bustling Nizwa Souk and admire the imposing Nizwa Fort from outside. Later, continue to Muscat International Airport for your departure flight.
